Journal: Kosciuszko

In Australia

Hi everyone. After a very long flight I arrived in Australia at Sydney international airport at 9.30 am on Nov 15, my climbing partner Aaron from Australia was there to pick me up. We drove the 6 1/2 hrs to Kosciuszko park. After finding a place to stay and repacking our climbing gear, food and a much needed rest was in order. November 16, we were up at 5 am and soon out the door. Climbing Kosciuszko is more a scramble than a technical climb but still a very long day. The climb up was mostly on rock with snow patches closer to the summit. At 11:12am with an altitude of 7,314ft I was very humbled to be standing on my fifth summit in my quest to climb the seven summits the highest peak on each continent.

Cheers,
Al
